Flexible dieting, otherwise known as “If it fits your macros”, is a balanced calories-in versus calories-out approach to nutrition. This type of nutrition approach allows you to eat foods you enjoy in moderation on a daily basis simply by controlling caloric intake(within reason) and balancing the amount of macronutrients, or “macros” you’re consuming. At Body By Brittany, we work off this principle and the science that supports it.

Balancing carbs, fat, and protein

A “macro”, or macronutrient, is a compound that makes up the foods you eat. The three macronutrients that comprise all of the foods we consume are carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. A reasonably balanced diet during your fitness program should be comprised of a percentage of carbohydrates, fat, and protein each. Given that each individual is entirely unique with entirely different food preferences, we use these percentages to establish a mindful eating plan.

At Body By Brittany, we will customize your macronutrient intake relative to your fitness goals and teach you how to be effective in not only controlling your own nutrition, but teaching you how macros work and how they can work for you! We don’t believe in hard restriction or deprivation. This program is about balance.
